So What Do I Think Of "Deadpool" So Far In Wolverine Origins?

Greetings all, it has been a pretty long time since I have done any blog entries, but honestly is it that big of a deal? Well if it is then sorry, if not then cool. Now then, on to real business...Well business at least.

Ok so as everyone knows, the Wolverine Origins movie is coming out soon (or already has online), and I thought I'd let you guys know how I feel about the movie adaptation of Deadpool since I'm a HUGE DP fan....(and no, I haven't seen the leaked film.)

Well my first reaction to finding out that Deadpool was going to be in the Origins movie was utter excitement! I couldn't believe they were actually going to put a character I had liked for so many years into a movie. Ryan Reynolds got the role which I still believe is a good choice. After listening to an interview with him online, it's obvious he knows a lot about the character which I believe is a definite plus! You can check it out right here.

It's pretty appearent that in the interview, he knows that the Deadpool in the movie is not the same Deadpool thats in the comics. My excitement soon ended for Deadpool once I found out just what they are doing to him in the film. Apparently they are going to make him the genetic sponge of the X-Men franchise! Throughout the film, I guess Weapon X is going around collecting mutants to take their D.N.A. and put it into Deadpool so he can be the "ultimate" weapon. Ok so he's going to have lots of powers, whatever right? Wrong. Well true he's going to have lot's of powers which include having blades coming out of his forearms, and (I swear to god) optic beams like Cyclops. Not only that, but near the end of the film, his appearance dramatically changes. Here a few images of what the movie Deadpool is going to look like.

True, this looks pretty God awful! I suppose it's a little relief to know that Ryan Reynolds isn't actually going to be playing that Deadpool, he'll be playing the Deadpool/Wade Wilson before this abomination "graces" the silver screen. Basically, first half of the movie is Reynolds, second half is this random guy. Yes his mouth is I think melted shut, most likely because the characters in the movie probably got sick of him talking (which I admit does stick true to the character). Although what they have done to Deadpool in this movie is horrific, I guess it's not ALL bad. Ryan Reynolds for instance seems to be pretty funny from what I've seen in the film. True, he doesn't wear the Deadpool costume, and although I would really like him to, I suppose it does make sense for him to dress more "stealthy", at least for an origin. Because let's keep in mind that in this film, it is supposed to be Deadpool's origin as well. I don't expect him to be typical Deadpool balls to the wall crazy, after all, even Wade didn't start out crazy. I believe that over time in the film, and after what Weapon X does to him, it does drive him insane (which would again explain the melted off mouth).

From what I've seen, the stunts that Deadpool pulls off in this film are pretty awesome (when he is still Reynolds that is). All in all a lot of people were REALLY disappointed with how 20th Century Fox handled the Deadpool character, and I do agree with them for the most part, but honestly I think it still might be alright. I know the crazy half naked no mouth Deadpool is going to be absolutely horrible, but I believe the Reynold's Deadpool will be pretty good. I mean at least he actually knows the character and seems to have read the comics. Well it seems we'll just have to wait until the movie comes out (assuming you haven't seen it online). I'm going into the movie with no expectations. I'm not going to build anything up. I'm going with an open mind and hoping for the best. Hopefully you all will to.

The Weekly Movie Review

Wow...there is really nothing I could say about this film that would even remotely give it justice, but damn it...I'm going to try. This is the Purple Beanie Movie Review of "Let The Right One In"

Originally named "Let Me In", "Let The Right One In" is based of a very popular Swedish novel that was adapted into a film. Being praised by critic after critic and being hailed as one of the greatest movies to come out in 2008, "Let The Right One In" is already in talks of being released in America with English audio, but believe me when I say this movie is worth reading the subtitles. The film opens with a young boy named Oskar who is bullied in school, overlooked by mostly everyone, and pretty much has no friends nor life whatsoever, that is until a young girl named Eli moves into the apartment next to Oskar. But just as soon as Eli moves in, mysterious deaths start taking place around the town as the civilians live in paranoia while others make it a task to figure out who is killing their friends. One night, Oskar meets Eli in the courtyard of the apartment complex as both seem to become quite taken with each other as time progresses, but signs make themselves present that point out that Eli is a vampire. Although he seems morally against Eli killing people, Oskar begins to realize it's something she has to do and understands that he does not want to loose her.

Now that's all I'm going to say plot wise because I really don't want to ruin this film if you've never seen it before, (and don't worry because I left a lot out in that summary). This film is easily what "Twilight" should have been! I'm not saying that because there is gore and what not in the film, I'm saying it because you actually feel for these characters. You feel their struggle and it keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering just how the film will end. Now I understand that the "Twilight" crowd mainly just want a good looking guy and girl to light up the silver screen because they want to get lost in some kind of fantasy, but that's what makes "Let The Right One In" so superior to "Twilight". "Let The Right One In" is incredibly realistic for what it is. I have seen and read plenty of vampire tales, but out of all them, this film really makes you believe that this could happen in real life. The problems Eli faces as a vampire, and the problems that Oskar faces as a kid in junior high are astoundingly realistic, as you feel like you could actually be a kid in Oskar's class or a resident in the apartment complex they live in while you're watching it. This film has gotten plenty of praise, and I definitely think it deserves that and more! This my possibly my favorite movie...hands down!

I give it 10 frozen dead guys in ice out of 10

My Bloody Valentine Remake

Alright let me just say at first I couldn't have cared less about this movie. Frankly my original intentions towards this film was to just cast it aside and just wait for the new Friday The 13th, but after hearing many people say it looks just like the original it occurred to me, if this movie is going to be like the original, then that means I'll most likely like it! I mean if it's like the original, then that means it'll most likely be bad and corny, but it at the same time I think I'll love it since it will remind me of the old days of horror films, the old days when it just had meaningless sex followed up by a horrific butchering of the teens. So here are my opinions so far on My Blood Valentine 3-D

Now then I'll admit I can barely remember the original My Blood Valentine, if memory serves me correctly, I don't even think I watched the entire thing. From what I can tell though is that it was about a serial killer roaming around a small town during Valentines day and killing teens while they were all obsessed with the shallow and pedantic holiday. My Blood Valentine I thought was pretty cool because the killer looked amazing. I mean mainly he just looks like a miner with a gas mask on but really that's all you needed. The movie was of course cheesy and just a typical slasher film, but at the same time that's what made it so great, it didn't try to be anything more than a slasher film, it was what it advertised and in my opinion I think that's what made it a little more genuine than other slasher flicks at the time that tried to build themselves up more and more only to be let down. With the remake however I've been a bit skeptical though since it seems like it's trying to use the 3-D effect to try and hook people into seeing it. Journey To The Center Of The Earth tried the same gimmick and frankly that movie was pretty lame in my opinion. So honestly when I heard about this movie I just didn't care, to me it was just going to be some lame remake and not worth the 9 dollars. But then I realized that yes, it's going to be a lame movie, just like the original! The original had this lame feel to it, but that was it's charm, the reason why it was so fun to watch, and now with this remake it seems it's going to deliver the same thing. So as of now I am looking forward to this remake, but like I said, don't go in there expecting the best slasher film ever made. It seems like it's just going to be a corny, yet fun movie and the 3-D effect should be pretty entertaining as well. All in all, my review of this movie will have to wait until after I've seen it of course, so until then, happy valentines day all *hehehe*
