My Bloody Valentine Remake

Alright let me just say at first I couldn't have cared less about this movie. Frankly my original intentions towards this film was to just cast it aside and just wait for the new Friday The 13th, but after hearing many people say it looks just like the original it occurred to me, if this movie is going to be like the original, then that means I'll most likely like it! I mean if it's like the original, then that means it'll most likely be bad and corny, but it at the same time I think I'll love it since it will remind me of the old days of horror films, the old days when it just had meaningless sex followed up by a horrific butchering of the teens. So here are my opinions so far on My Blood Valentine 3-D

Now then I'll admit I can barely remember the original My Blood Valentine, if memory serves me correctly, I don't even think I watched the entire thing. From what I can tell though is that it was about a serial killer roaming around a small town during Valentines day and killing teens while they were all obsessed with the shallow and pedantic holiday. My Blood Valentine I thought was pretty cool because the killer looked amazing. I mean mainly he just looks like a miner with a gas mask on but really that's all you needed. The movie was of course cheesy and just a typical slasher film, but at the same time that's what made it so great, it didn't try to be anything more than a slasher film, it was what it advertised and in my opinion I think that's what made it a little more genuine than other slasher flicks at the time that tried to build themselves up more and more only to be let down. With the remake however I've been a bit skeptical though since it seems like it's trying to use the 3-D effect to try and hook people into seeing it. Journey To The Center Of The Earth tried the same gimmick and frankly that movie was pretty lame in my opinion. So honestly when I heard about this movie I just didn't care, to me it was just going to be some lame remake and not worth the 9 dollars. But then I realized that yes, it's going to be a lame movie, just like the original! The original had this lame feel to it, but that was it's charm, the reason why it was so fun to watch, and now with this remake it seems it's going to deliver the same thing. So as of now I am looking forward to this remake, but like I said, don't go in there expecting the best slasher film ever made. It seems like it's just going to be a corny, yet fun movie and the 3-D effect should be pretty entertaining as well. All in all, my review of this movie will have to wait until after I've seen it of course, so until then, happy valentines day all *hehehe*
